I Would Like to Visit

Muhammad Nour Elkhairy [Can.-Jord., 2016, 3 min, num., VOA/Original English version]

I Would Like to Visit is a video art piece that contextualizes the desire to travel to Israel within the larger framework of settler colonialism, the Palestinian diaspora and racist travel visa policies. It is articulated from the perspective of an unnamed Palestinian character with a Jordanian passport. Through onscreen text editing, the project also introduces and questions notions of solidarity between indigenous struggles in North American and Palestine, and problematizes the notion of multiculturalism as celebrated by the North American states and Israel.
